Beauty spec shoot – July 24th, 2026
This was a beauty spec shoot on July 24th, 2026. I wanted to do a shoot that featured the products of some brands that I would like to work for. For the lighting, I wanted to use direct, hard lighting to show the spectral details of the makeup and skin. For the color palette and color grading, I did complimentary colors of teal/green against warm skin tones. I had an amazing model and makeup artist. This was shot at my Miami production studio, Know Good Studio.
Production team:
Model – Brook Wolmart – CGM Models
Makeup and hair – Shani Gottlieb – Agency Gerard Artists
Studio – Know Good Studio www.knowgoodmiami.com
Photographer – Josh Eskridge www.josheskridge.com
Note from the makeup artist, Shani Gottlieb:
This year I’ve been really inspired by the return of bold, colorful eye makeup. I’ve been pulling inspiration from Y2K beauty and the iconic makeup trends of the 2000s but giving them a modern editorial feel.
Brook has such a unique look with her light green eyes and dark brunette hair – we wanted to create a cool, wearable editorial makeup look that still felt timeless.
I used cool gray eyeliner from Urban Decay which really pulled coolness along with soft blues and greens from the Made By Mitchell cream palettes to enhance her eye color and add dimension. To keep everything balanced and more wearable I paired the statement eyes M.ph Le skin and Mutha Pucker Up Lip Plump in Almond Mom for a fresh finish.

Beauty spec shoot 6-26-26
A beauty spec shoot shot at Know Good Studio in Miami on June 26th, 2026.

This was a beauty spec shoot that I did at my studio in Miami working with an amazing model and makeup artist. We wanted to highlight products from Rhode and Mary Phillips Beauty. The shoot was a mixture of shots with the products on the model, application shots, product shots, video and behind-the-scenes. The aesthetic of the shoot was a lo-fi 90s/early 2000s vibe using warm color tones and direct studio lighting. The goal was to show how a beauty brand can build a cohesive visual campaign across product, model, and motion content.
